Your Faith Has Healed You
*Before we dive into today’s story, I just want to say. Thank you for being here! I truly believe that God has led you here for a reason.
If you don’t already own a Bible, I highly recommend the Life Application Study Bible (NIV). You can find it on amazon, this is the one I use. It’s one of the best tools to help you not only understand Scripture but also learn how to apply it in your everyday life
And if a physical Bible isn’t within reach right now, don’t worry, the Bible App is free and available in your app store. It’s an amazing way to stay connected to God’s Word wherever you are.*
Luke 8:40–56
Good morning, my beautiful friends.
This morning during my morning bible study, I prayed and asked God what He wanted to share with me. He led me to Luke 8:40–56. A powerful story that reminded me how deeply our faith can move the heart of God.
In this passage, Jesus is on His way to heal a dying 12-year-old girl. As He walks, a huge crowd presses in around Him, everyone is so eager to be near Him. It felt almost impossible to get through, but in that crowd was a woman. This woman has been bleeding for 12 years. Doctors couldn’t help her, no one could. Yet despite the chaos, despite the odds, she believed that if she could just touch the edge of His cloak, she would be healed.
And she was.
Immediately.
Jesus felt the power leave Him, and He asked, “Who touched Me?” The woman came forward, and Jesus didn’t just acknowledge her. He made sure she knew it was her faith that healed her. Not the crowd. Not the touch. Her faith.
I took a moment to reflect.
There were so many people surrounding Jesus that day, bumping into Him, walking alongside Him. But only one was healed? Because curiosity doesn’t change us. Faith does.
It reminded me of a time in my life when I was “curious” about Jesus. I’d go to church, searching for something, hoping something would change. Yet, I’d go home and nothing in my life shifted. I didn’t surrender, I didn’t obey. I was just present, not transformed. And I’d wonder, “Why am I still hurting? Why am I still always confused on my decisions? The biggest question I would always ask myself… “why am in not at peace?”
The truth is, healing comes when we lean fully into God.
Not just when we stand near Him, but when we reach out to Him in complete faith, in trust, in obedience.
Jesus told the woman, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
That peace, that healing, is still available to us today. But it comes through a relationship with God that’s rooted in faith and obedience. It comes when we choose to show up for Him daily, even in seasons of pain or confusion.
So I want to encourage you today:
If you’re hurting, if you feel stuck, if you’ve been circling the same battles, don’t just stay near Jesus. Reach for Him. Touch Him with your faith. Let Him heal the places no one else can.
When God answers your prayers...
When He heals your heart through the pain...
When He gives you that peace you've been yearning for...
Don’t forget Him.
It’s easy to call on God in times of struggle, but don’t let His blessings make you distant. Continue to reach for Him every single day.
Cling to Him not just in the valleys, but on the mountaintops too.
Because He’s not just the God who delivers you. He’s the God who desires to walk with you, daily.
And as you walk this journey, lead with love, kindness, and trust. He sees your heart. He honors your faith. And when you lean into Him with all your being. He will give you peace.
Your Friend,
Chelsey
