Anything Is Possible
Happy Monday My Beautiful Friends!
I love the SOAP Devotional method. I first learned it in my church and during my Bible study group. It has always been such an easy way to understand scripture and see how to apply it immediately in my life. Today, I want to share a devotional using this method, based on Luke 1:25, to encourage you that anything is possible if you just believe.
The phrase “Anything is possible if you just believe” means that your mindset and faith can play a powerful role in what you achieve.
At it’s core, it’s about:
Belief as the starting point : If you don’t believe something can happen, you likely won’t put in the effort to make it happen. Belief sparks action.
Faith despite obstacles : Challenges will come, but believing keeps you from giving up when it gets hard.
Possibility over limitation : Instead of focusing on why something can’t happen, you look for ways it can.
From a Christian perspective, it also ties to verses like Matthew 19:26 - “With God all things are possible.” This shifts it from just self-confidence to God-confidence, meaning your belief is rooted in trusting that God’s power can make the impossible possible.
It’s not a promise that everything you want will happen instantly, but it’s a reminder that faith, perseverance, and trust in God can open doors that seem impossible.
Anything Is Possible If You Just Believe
S – Scripture
The Lord has done this for me,” she said. “In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.
- Luke 1:25 NIV
O – Observation
In Luke 1:1–25, we read about Zechariah and Elizabeth, a couple who faithfully served God but had no children because Elizabeth was barren and both were elderly. While Zechariah was serving in the temple, the angel Gabriel appeared to him with a promise that Elizabeth would give birth to a son named John, who would prepare the way for the Lord. Zechariah struggled to believe because it seemed impossible due to their age. As a result, God caused him to be mute until the prophecy was fulfilled. Just as God had promised, Elizabeth became pregnant and rejoiced, recognizing God’s hand in removing her shame. This story reminds us that what seems impossible to us is never impossible for God.
A – Application
The phrase, “Anything is possible if you just believe,” was something I first heard in a childhood movie. Back then, it went right over my head. But now, reading this story, I understand its truth in a deeper way. Like Zechariah, I have faced situations that feel impossible. I have prayed for things and sometimes doubted whether they would happen. I have realized that God often uses seasons of waiting to teach us lessons, refine our character, and help us break old habits before He gives us the blessing we have asked for. His timing is always perfect, even if it feels slow.
If you have been praying for something that seems nearly impossible, do not lose hope. Keep believing. Keep trusting. When the time is right, God will bring it to pass just as He did for Elizabeth and Zechariah.
P – Prayer
Lord, thank You for reminding me that nothing is impossible for You. Forgive me for the times I have doubted Your promises because of my circumstances. Help me to trust Your timing and remain faithful in the waiting. Strengthen my faith so that I may believe without wavering. Teach me the lessons I need to learn and prepare my heart for the blessings You have in store. Amen.
