“I Am Proof”

David & Lizeth — A Testimony of Redemption, Marriage, and God’s Perfect Timing
Hi My Beautiful Friends!
I’ve known Dave and Liz for quite some time now, and these two are incredibly dear to my heart. When I had my first daughter, I struggled to produce breast milk. That’s when Liz came into my life, a complete God send and generously donated breast milk to us for six months. That kind of selfless love isn’t something you forget.
Years later, our paths crossed again, and since then, she and her family have been a constant blessing in our lives. Now, I get the honor of sharing their story as the first feature in a new series close to my heart one where I share testimonies of how God has shown up in the lives of others. this is the “ I Am Proof Series “
A New Beginning After Brokenness
David was a football coach, and Liz was the president of a youth football league. Both came from previous marriages and were raising children on their own. When David first saw Liz, he knew without hesitation that she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
Starting over isn’t easy, especially after experiencing the pain of divorce and the weight of a blended family. But in the midst of uncertainty, they chose to trust God and walk into something new.
The journey wasn’t perfect, but it was purposeful. It’s a reflection of 2 Corinthians 5:17:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
God was doing something new not just in their relationship, but in their hearts.
Faith in the Waiting
Liz had a relationship with God from a young age. She saw something in David that deeply resonated with her: his hunger for truth and his desire to seek the Lord, even through his doubts.
David had always believed in God, but struggled with uncertainty. Still, he kept searching. Together, they visited different churches across their city, hungry to grow spiritually and raise their children in faith.
Their story reminds me of Jeremiah 29:13:
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
From Fear to Faith
David had a heart attack an experience that brought everything to a halt. Laying on a gurney, uncertain of what was to come, he cried out to God:
“Lord, if You are real, help me through this, and I will serve You with all my heart and soul.”
And God met him there.
As he was walking into the lab, a peace washed over him the fear, the panic, the anxiety, all gone. He felt the presence of God in a way he had never known before.
After speaking with his doctor for 45 minutes, he was told he could go home. Just like that. And right then and there, he said with full surrender:
“I am all Yours.”
A Marriage Built on Purpose
David and Liz’s marriage isn’t just a love story it’s a redemption story. It’s proof that God can take what was once broken and make it whole again. That even after loss, disappointment, and fear. God can still write a new chapter . One rooted in grace, healing, and purpose.
Their lives today are centered around ministry, mentorship, love, and most of all, their faith. They’re not just building a home together they’re building a legacy.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 says:
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Their marriage is that three-strand cord . God, David, and Liz. And it shows!
Let This Be Your Reminder
Maybe you’re in a season of waiting…
Maybe you’ve come out of something painful…
Maybe you feel like you’ve doubted too much to be used by God…
But if there’s one thing this testimony reminds us of, it’s this:
God isn’t done with you.
He still writes beautiful stories. He still restores marriages. He still meets us in our darkest, most doubtful places and brings peace that passes all understanding.
Philippians 4:7 reminds us:
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
To David & Liz
thank you for sharing your testimony and letting your life shine for the Kingdom. You are proof that God truly makes all things new.
I hope you all have an amazing day!
with love!
your friend, Chelsey
